I Love Stories - Sink Time

I am just finishing my sink full of dishes, when I feel a tug at my shirt.
"Hi Caleb.  Mommy's almost done," I respond with my usual phrase.
"Me watch you,"he says, with a big smile on his face.
So, drag a stool over to the sink.
My chore is made easier now as I listen to his comments.
"Look, Mommy, bubbles in there!"
"Water in there, Mommy"
"A spoon!", etc...
Then I load some things into the dishwasher and clean the sink.
"Me wash dishes, Mommy."
How can I say no to such a cute face?
So I get out a few non breakables, and turn on some lukewarm water.
I'm taken back to a few years ago, when that little voice and cute face were Marigold's.
It's now one of those teary eyed moments that make being a mom worth it.

  1. What a great story! Sometimes we forget the sense of wonder and novelty that comes with being a child, and our own children remind us. You can read about this kind of thing, but experiencing it is a different experience altogether.
