Happy Fall, Ya'll!
We have been so busy this season!
Here are a few pics of what we've been up to!
Jared and I took a trip to the temple right before he left...
It was lovely, despite the rain,
and the temple was so beautifully lit when we were leaving.
Living right next to the woods means RAKING!
I take wheelbarrows full of leaves from the backyard
to the curb for pick-up...
and the kids get rides back!
One thing we've done for school is a unit on why and how
leaves change color in Autumn.
We went on a left hunt, and brought them home to discuss.
Then we made leaf rubbings
We learned about Ancient Peruvians
who drew gigantic line drawings...
I had the kids make huge line drawings out back,
and I got on the roof to take pics :)
We had a picnic under the dogwood tree
and planted mums
Ashlynn thought the cornucopia was a hat
We did more raking,
and filled a pumpkin bag with some of the leaves.
everyone helped!
So cute!
It's hard to see,
but we use glass markers on these windows
for some school activities (math and writing)
it's fun!
Reminds me of "A Beautiful Mind"
Here is our reading chart for fall time -
Every book read earns a leaf for the pile!
It is much larger now,
but I'll save the ending pic for the week after Thanksgiving.
The kids LOVE the puppies.
And these guys love playing at the sink
We've even found time to play at the park!
I used to bring Marigold here when she was a baby!
Ah, yes, and Ashlynn has gotten so good at
taking her clothes off, that we have to keep a onesie
or backward PJs on her.
Otherwise, we find her naked, and have to clean up diaper mess :P
We had #10 week at school,
and had a special #10 day and party...
We did #10 breakfast foods, watched video clips about the number 10,
got 10 scoops of ice cream to share, played 10 games together,
and made cupcakes into the shape of the number 10.
(I have more pics somewhere...I'll add them when I find them)
We also got me a new fold out bed from ikea...
First, we went to Ikea to get some ideas...
and narrowed it down to these two...
We chose the red one!
Well, that's all for now!
Check back after Thanksgiving!
