It's October!
We just finished with D week at homeschool -
Marigold finished the first book of the Dark is Rising series,
and I've been busy making plans for Jared's homecoming later this month.

DOG DAY:
We sang BINGO -
and read Go dog Go, and Henry Helps with the dog.

Ashlynn and Caleb liked this bone matching game
 -
Caleb really enjoys these color by number worksheets,
where he has to solve the math problems before coloring

My Mom's Dog, Fritz, was a big part of our day!
We took him for a walk, and fed him in the morning...

Then we watched Harry, the dirty Dog

Afterwards, we brushed Fritz, and gave him a bath!

Our snack was apple and toast bones with Nutella for dipping

We ended our day by making a doggy craft
showing why each of them love Fritz

DUCK DAY:

We sang Five Little Ducks
and read Make way for Ducklings

Number writing practice,
Number recognition and color recognition
all in one worksheet :)

We played a die game and stamped ducklings

This is always a favorite-
we count them all when we're done

We played a shape matching game too-

DINOSAUR DAY:
We sang "If you're a T-rex and you know it"
We read Danny and the Dinosaur

We did so many worksheets,
I'll just share the more unique work...

These folder games are left over from last year-
Ashlynn did them all by herself, she was so Proud!

We did a roll the die, dot the dino game

We learned about fossils,
Cut out different dinosaur pieces, and glued them together

Snack time was simple - Dinosaur fruit snacks
we went on a dinosaur egg hunt
and had dinosaur chicken nuggets for lunch

DRAGON DAY:

I was really excited for Dragon Day
Papa sang Puff the magic dragon for us while playing his guitar

First, we learned about Western Dragons:

We read St George and the Dragon
which has the most amazing illustrations, by the way

Then we made these great "fire breathing" dragons

After snack, we learned about Eastern dragons

We read The dragon and the Monkey
and made a "flying" Eastern Dragon craft

But wait, that was only 4 school days -
That's right !
With Jared's homecoming and our move right around the corner,
I decided that spending time planning with him
trumped school on Tuesday.
Flexibility is another reason homeschool is so great!
